Without movies our world of entertainment will not be complete. In fact movies do hold the greatest significance among all our entertainment activities. It gives us the maximum pleasure and makes us experience all the feelings that a human being has. Movies are a great source of hangout and it is the best way to find pleasure with the whole family. Most of us go for a movie in the week end to spend time with our family. Movies can be considered as the greatest entertainment provider.

Most of us are movie buffs and will not miss any new film that has come into the theatres nearby. I am a person who is very much interested in movies and have listed out some of the top ten movies that each one of us should see.

  1. Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King: This is the third and final in the series of Lord of Rings. The Return of the King gives an epic finale to Frodo’s quest. The main characteristic of this film is that the special effects used in this film are seven times more than that of an average film.
  2. The Godfather: Part II:
    This film helped Robert de Niro win an Oscar for his role as a young Vito Corleone.
  3. The Seven Samurai:
    This film is regarded as Akira Kurosawa’s greatest film. This film tells the story of a warn torn village in the 16th century Japan. The three samurai characters who survived in the film were the first to die in real life.
  4. Red Dust:
    Clark Gable plays puts in the role of a macho hunter in the jungles of Africa opposite to Jean Harlow and Mary Astor. It was remade twenty years later.
  5. Scarlet Pimpernel:
    A classic piece of act by the late Leslie Howard. He played the role of a masked hero of French revolution.
  6. The Gunfighter:
    This is one of Gregory Peck’s finest performances.
  7. Love Affair:
    This film is based on Leo McCarey’s original “An Affair to Remember”. The film was shot much less in glossy than the written work. But it was able to satisfy all those who have already read the novel.
  8. Ruggles in Red Gap:
    In this film, Charles Laughton puts the role of English butler whose master is very much addicted to card game and looses him to a rich American. He is forced to relocate into the west. This film talks more about the culture shock that he is experiencing. Charles Laughton won many applauds for the role that he did in this film.
  9. Casablanca:
    This is a war based story. It portrays the real life experiences of Rick Blaine. A line from this movie has been voted as the 5th most well known line by the American Film Institute.
  10. Pulp Fiction:
    This film simply tells the story of some unusual people who got to meet in a day. The various plotlines are too intertwines such that it can be easily summarized in a paragraph or two.
