So what have Pixar done this time that will please an ever growing audience of Toy Story movie fans and also the many, many companies who produce merchandise that fills our departments stores? Well there are a few new characters such as Rex, an endlessly worrying and insecure dinosaur or Twitch, an awesome half man half insect action figure. This will enhance the product ranges of many merchandising companies and enable more products to be generated by the increase in demand once the film is launched. Action toys are a good example of this as each comes individually packaged and allows for a collection to be built.
Will Toy Story 3 capture the imagination third time around? This is a definite yes, as already many product manufacturers remember the huge demand for Toy Story 1 and 2 merchandise. It helps that there are still the big name stars behind the new version, Tom Hanks as Sheriff Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear and now Michael Keaton as Ken, not forgetting Whoopi Goldberg as Stretch. If that does not do it then perhaps the fact that the new film will be released in 3-D may get the audiences flocking to the cinema to see how many of the characters have adapted to this format.
Can Toy Story 3 top Avatar as the biggest grossing film of all time? Avatar managed to gross over $2.7bn in 2009 and with Titanic way behind on just over $1.8bn in number two position it will be interesting to see if Toy Story 3 is able to capture a bigger audience in 2010. Disney and Pixar have been slowly releasing more trailers and established promotions with companies such as Lego and Mattel as the launch draws nearer. Only recently Steve jobs of Apple showed a demo of Apple’s new iPhone OS 4 using an iAd for the new Toy Story 3 movie, which gives the new film a premium promoter. All this promotion is sure to get shoppers turning out in their thousands to get their hands on the latest toys, video games and many other forms of merchandise.
With the credit crunch not long behind us, it was surprising to see the popularity and expense paid out after the Avatar launch, it it just goes to show that even in times where money may be harder to find, we still manage to make sure our little ones have those latest toys and games that are brought about by new movies such as Toy Story 3.

This review is dedicated to those readers of a certain vintage who grew up under the influence of Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. If you happened to spend your formative years with Tarantino movie posters on your bedroom wall and Jungle Boogie ringing out your speakers, then I have three words which you’ll be overjoyed to hear… Tarantino is back.
Yes, Tarantino has been active since Pulp Fiction, and with momentary highlights such as Jackie Brown, but I think we’ve all been waiting for him to pull something special together. Something really special. He’s managed to do just that with the fabulous war movie Inglorious Basterds.
To quickly summarize the plot, a young Jewish girl sees her family murdered by the infamous Nazi “Jew hunter” Col. Hans Landa - played in a wonderfully subtle camp (but terrifying) manner by Christoph Waltz. Said girl flees to Paris and assumes a new identity. Fate dictates that an entire Nazi dream team spend an evening in her place of work, thus dealing her a chance to exact revenge.
That’s enough about the plot, the fun parts of the movie are - I’m delighted to report - wonderfully executed violence, and rip-roaring fast-paced dialogue. In recent Tarantino outings such as DeathProof, his particular style of bullet-fast dialogue had become grating - he returns to form in Basterds relying more on humor and execution of dialogue rather than speed of delivery.
Brad Pitt is excellent as Aldo Raine, the leader of a gang of head scalping “basterds” on a special mission - “killin’ Nazis”. His southern drawl and wonderful lines are a joy, and look out for his effort at going undercover as an Italian stuntman!
As with all good Tarantino movies, there are standout scenes. One such scene in Basterds involves a wonderfully uncomfortable drinking session in the cellar of a French bar with a group of pissed up Nazi soldiers, an undercover British agent, two Basterds and a German actress in cahoots with the alliance. Predictably, a bloodbath unfolds, but not before the viewer has been taken on a very Tarantino ride…
Although a solid cast is in place, they are always playing foil to the standout characters of Pitt’s Lt Raine, and Waltz’s Hans Landa - and rightly so. With these two characters Tarantino has created two thoroughly memorable movie legends. You spend the movie waiting for these two characters to cross swords, and swords do indeed make a cross - in the final frame of the movie.
Tough to categorise this movie in a genre, but I’d opt for black comedy. Black comedy in the manner that only an on-form Tarantino can deliver. Welcome back Quentin, we’ve missed you!

I like summer blockbusters as much as the next person, and while not the best movies that Hollywood has to offer, the summer movie schedule is important to studios and moviegoers alike. There’s a tried and true method when it comes to summer blockbusters, and it goes something like this: whatever worked in the past is bound to work again. This is why the summer of 2010 is going to look quite similar to the summer of 2008.
Every once in a while the Hollywood “machine” puts out a truly spectacular, truly excellent film that will stand the test of time. Alien, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, Rocky, and The French Connection to name just a few. Most of the time, however, Hollywood churns out tried and true “formula” movies. Boy meets girl, boy falls for girl, girl leaves boy, girl comes back to boy in the end. You know what I’m talking about. One of the reasons Hollywood sticks to a formula is because they can predict, with crazy accuracy, how a certain film will do based on the performance of others similarly structured. That’s why every summer we know we’ll see lots of big action films with mega-stars known around the globe. Big action movies work in the summer, and 2010 will have no shortage of action, even if we’ve seen it all before.
Iron Man 2 looks to make another gazillion dollars as fans are hotly anticipating its release in late May. Iron Man 2 won’t be the only sequel this summer. The hugely successful Shrek franchise releases Shrek Forever After, and Sex and the City 2 will also try to capitalize on the success of its older sister. We’ll also see Woody and the rest of the gang in Toy Story 3. Remakes are hugely popular in Hollywood, and the summer seasons are never immune from them. The biggest so far comes to us in the form of Robin Hood with Russell Crowe, which promises to be a tale of the Prince of Thieves like we’ve never seen before. We’ll also see remakes of some great modern Hollywood classics like The Karate Kid, and Footloose. We’ll also get to see The A-Team, which was a wildly successful television show that was destined for the big screen.
In the meantime, catching up on the originals or first installments of these great movies is easy when you have premium programming from Cox Cable TV. Whether you catch them on premium movie channels like HBO, Showtime, Starz, or prefer them on your own schedule on Pay-Per-View or Video On Demand, you know you’re getting unedited, first run films shown the way the studios intended them to be seen!
Have fun this summer at the movies!

When I hear of a title like The Losers, I naturally imagine a plot along the lines of a group of high school misfits who, after four years of bullying and oppression, finally decide to take a stand against the jocks and cheerleaders who ridiculed them during their adolescence.
A plot that I don’t think of, however, is an elite Special Forces team of beautiful, muscular CIA agents who, after being betrayed and left for dead by a corrupt member of the United States government, seek some justified vengeance by kicking a lot of ass and blowing all kinds of stuff up. Doesn’t really sound like a bunch of “losers” to me. Actually seems pretty cool.
Regardless of my misconceptions towards the title, The Losers is in fact the name chosen for the upcoming film from Dark Castle Entertainment and Warner Bros. The film adaptation could be described best as a movie based on a comic book that was based on a comic book.
The original comic of the same name was published in 1970 by DC Comics and told the story of Captain Johnny Cloud and his contribution to an American Special Forces group in Europe during World War II. The story was then updated and re-imagined by Vertigo Comics (an imprint of DC) in 2003 and remained only slightly faithful to the original by substituting the All-American soldiers with badass CIA agents and instituting the revenge theme.
And now, because Hollywood made a rule that all successful to mildly-successful comic book franchises must be turned into a movie, The Losers makes its way to the big screen. The man calling the shots on the film was director Sylvain White, a relative new comer to the industry whose previous directorial efforts include Stomp the Yard and the forgetful I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer.
The choice of White to direct had many fans of the source material worried because of his lack of experience with the genre, or any genre for that matter. Luckily, the positive buzz that has been garnered from early reviews and trailer reception has for the most part silenced the critics. The script White had to work with came courteous of writer/director/actor Peter Berg whose previous writing credits include Friday Night Lights and Very Bad Things.
In my opinion, what will make or break this film is the chemistry of the cast, which is headed by Jeffery Dean Morgan, an actor who has transitioned from dreamy Grey’s Anatomy hunk to comic book action star flawlessly. His portrayal of The Comedian in last year’s Watchmen was one of the main highlights of the film.
Portraying the rest of The Losers is Chris Evans (Fantastic Four, Push), Idris Elba (Obsessed), Columbus Short (Armored), Oscar Jaenada and the ridiculously hot Zoe Saldana, whose resume is rapidly becoming very impressive. She starred as Captain Uhura in the reboot of Star Trek and used performance capture to play Neytiri in the mega-blockbuster that is Avatar. Jason Patric (Narc, Sleepers) rounds up the cast as Max, the corrupt government insider hell bent on killing The Losers.
It is interesting enough to note that The Losers was created with a PG-13 rating in mind, something that all parties were a part of in hopes of acquiring a younger, wider audience. The MPAA did in fact slap it with a PG-13 making it the first Vertigo Comics adaptation and film produced by Dark Castle Entertainment not be rated R. How this pans out is yet to be determined.
Something is still bothering me though. The Losers comic book from 1970 clearly defined why the characters called themselves “The Losers.” Because each member of the Special Forces team was a commanding officer who all lost men under them to casualties and felt personally responsible, the deemed themselves “The Losers.” Pretty simple.
But I can’t for the life of me figure out why the good looking, incredibly skilled characters in this film or the comic book it’s based on call themselves losers. They all seem pretty cool to me. I guess I’ll just have to go see the movie to figure it out. It opens nationwide on Friday, April 23.

Watching movies has been my fashion. Have you seen the movie Twilight? I have been a fan of this series for a long time. I have been reading the books of Stephanie Meyers and I have been so thrilled about watching it on the theater.
The characters did not fail my expectations. Bella and Edward were simply the best couple. Once you see it you would surely wonder how it would be like to be a vampire. Though there are a lot of fans with the two of them and a lot of them are wishing how it would be like to fall in love with a vampire.
Truly the movie is very romantic where a teenage girl Bella Swan fell in love with a vampire played by Edward Cullen. She was willing to risk her life and accept entirely the person that she loves, although they had a lot of problems with being together because of the danger of Bella’s life. Edward is very protective of Bella that he would do anything to keep her safe.
What made Edward fall in love with her is because of her scent. That makes it hard for him to resist. Another is that Edward has this certain gift of reading people’s mind and he can’t do it with Bella. That triggered Edward’s curiosity with this girl. She is just an ordinary human but could somehow resist a vampire’s gift.
It is a very good movie to watch. You should try watching it. Well if you are fond of watching movies that are romantic or adventure. This would be a great film. Though this movie is still the first part of the four series, it would be great to see all of the parts. It has great effects and you will see the great powers of vampires. Though the werewolf has not shown in this story yet you better not miss this part.
I am passionate with writing. I have written a lot of articles and if you are interested with looking for a great wooden file cabinet then you can click my new site to see beatiful cabinets.

Movie Reviews this week looks at the comedy The Slammin’ Salmon.
The Slammin’ Salmon is one of the craziest comedy movies you will see all year, absolutely hilarious from beginning to end.
It stars Michael Duncan Clarke (The Big Mile) as Cleon “Slammin’” Salmon also known as “The Champ”, a retired former heavy weight boxing champion, who has opened a restaurant The Slamming Salmon, where customers are waited on by a very competitive crew of waiters.
The fun begins when Cleon tells the restaurant’s manager Rich Ferrente played by Kevin Heffernan (Beerfest), that he owes 20,000 dollars to a Yakuza friend, and Rich must make 20,000 dollars tonight from the restaurant’s takings or he will be in for a rollicking.
Rich in his panic conveys to the staff that there will be a prize for the waiter that generates the most cash that night, and competition begins amongst the waiters, Nuts played by the hilarious Jay Chandrasekhar (Beerfest, The Dukes of Hazzard), who normally takes his medication or else he turns into his alter-ego Zongo (and you just know somehow he is going to forget to take his medication), there is an absolute classic scene, where Nuts/Zongo is trying to serve a salmon to one of the customers, but in his mind all the customers at that particular table are cats, he thinks he is lovingly holding the salmon while the cats all feed on it, while he asks “what does it taste like”? But in reality he is forcefully shoving the salmond down the throat of an unfortunate customer.
One of the waiters Connor played by Steve Lemme (Beerfest), used to be the main lead on a TV show CFI Hot Lanta (an obvious parody of CSI: Las Vegas and its spin offs), but he lost his job, and embarrassingly has to go back to waiting tables at The Slamming Salmond, but ofcourse his colleagues especially Guy played by Erik Stolhanske (Beerfest), can’t wait for tidbits on others stars in the show, such as Morgan Fairchild who makes a guest appearance as herself.
Mia played by the gorgeous April Bowlby (Two and a half men), is in ballerina school, and aims to win the prize as the waiter able to bring in the most cash, but she is about to get involved in an accident that might ruin her chances entirely. The chef Dave played by Paul Soter (Beerfest), has got his socially awkward twin brother Donnie (also played by Paul Soter) a job as a waiter, and he is also thrust into the competition, but is soon corrupted by Connor, who equally has eyes on the prize, as well as Tara, played by the gorgeous Cobie Smulders (The L Word), a medical student, who along with trying to fight for the prize, has to prevent Nuts from turning into Zongo, by making sure he takes his medication.
The Slammin’ Salmond has superb acting, with all the cast in the movie having excellent comedy timing especially Michael Duncan Clarke as the ominous boss, and the movie has great cameos, notably from Sendhil Ramamurty (Dr. Suresh in Heroes) as Marlon Spencer who has brought his girlfriend Samara Dubois played by the gorgeous Oliva Munn; to propose to her, but is about to get into a spot of bother with the engagement ring.
Movie reviews is constantly updated with reviews of great movies and recommended releases.

Have you ever wondered how the Presidents and CEOs of large business organizations work in order improve their company? If yes, Undercover Boss, a reality TV show will help us understand how corporate giants such as Churchill Down, White Castle and 7 Eleven manage to remain successful and bring in revenue.
There is no doubt that even large companies have issues that need to be dealt with. Lack of uniformity and training are two important factors due to which problems arise. Presidents and CEOs of various companies believe in getting to the core of the issue in order to solve it in the best possible way. Many of them go undercover and work in different departments to understand how every sector is being run.
For instance, after his undercover process, Dave Rife (owner of White Castle) concluded that problems at the workplace occur due to confusion caused by numerous people yelling out different commands. A protocol is very essential in order to keep everything organized at the workplace.
Apart from realizing the drawbacks, successful businessmen have also given importance to an employee’s accuracy and efficiency. They have not only appreciated their skills but also tried to implement the same in meeting company standards.
According to the CEO and President of 7 Eleven, Joe DePinto, a company can achieve great heights with the help of dedicated employees. He feels that employees are the main factor that provides customers with incentive to come back rather than the products sold by the company.
So, what is the common factor that makes employees belonging to different companies more competent? It’s the training provided to them that helps them perform in a better manner. There are many companies that don’t believe in the shadow method of training. In reality, shadow training can be efficient only when the employer instills trust in the seasoned employee in teaching skills to the newly hired candidate.
Business organizations need to realize the importance of training because it can help in laying the foundation of the company and building reputation. If the added expenditure is the problem, one can take advantage of online franchise training facilities that are cost effective. For instance, Coggno is a learning management system that helps companies customize the curriculum and provide up to date information to the employees. The schedule is flexible for the employees and maintaining uniformity in company’s rules and processes also becomes easy.
In short, large and successful organizations have banked on the benefits of training as it is important for preparing the employees and ensuring their health and safety. Companies waiting to reach the same level need to research about effective learning management systems and look for suitable interface and features.
There is no doubt that employees can be encouraged to perform better with the help of a positive training method and online training does the same. It is not only convenient and easy but also makes the process of training enjoyable. It is also extremely beneficial in the creation of a productive environment for the staff.
Coggno can provide you with a flexible and easy to use learning management system for your online training needs. Call Coggno now at 888-585-9978 and inquire about trying the system for free.

Crispin Glover is getting some buzz for resurrecting his career as a rude, one-armed bellhop in John Cusack’s latest comedy vehicle: Hot Tub Time Machine. Of course, Glover’s career didn’t necessarily need a resurrection because he’s on a roll, recently appearing in box office hit, Alice in Wonderland.
The hoi polloi is connecting the dots with Glover’s McFly role in the 1985 smash hit, Back to the Future and his role in Hot Tub Time Machine. After all, the new film is about traveling back to the 80s when Back to the Future (also featuring time travel), John Cusack and Chevy Chase ruled earth. Just the 80s connections, the time travel allusions and Cusack’s spray on tan make this a should see film.
What people don’t realize is Glover has cultivated a cultish underground following, screening his whack short films on any projector that will have him for the last 15 years, including the wildly odd What Is It? That stars himself and a cast of actors with Down’s Syndrome.
Hot Tub Time Machine is a raunchy good time. The title is ridiculous and the premise sounds stupid but the trailer looks rather funny, plus there are boobies, leg warmers, cassette players, turquoise colored clothing, and a crew of losers looking to find their mojo. Add Glover, who has the quirky acting chops that all successful modern comedies desperately need to become a phenomenon (see Zach Galifianakis in The Hangover and your mama in Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure), and this is a flick worth seeing.
Of course, early reports have some stupid 3D dragon movie topping the box office and Alice in Wonderland holding strong, while Hot Tub parks itself firmly in third place.
Cusack looks like he’s pulling off the straight man roll with aplomb, “that movie guy,” Rob Corddry is spewing funny attitude all over the place, The Office stalwart, Craig Robinson, looks like the glue to the ensemble cast with his impeccable timing, and the young goober kid, Clark Duke, seems to be trying too hard to use this box office smash to launch a semblance of a funny nerd career.
Critics are mixed in their reviews of the movie, but the consensus on Rotten Tomatoes seems to sum it up nicely: “Its flagrantly silly script — and immensely likable cast — make up for most of its flaws.” The movie has garnered a 62 rating on the Tomatometer, which qualifies it as Fresh rather than Rotten.
But back to Glover. The man is hot and you need to witness and believe in the resurrection of McFly. It’s awesome. Need proof? Check out one of the many trailers for this farce, where Mr. Glover drops some serious one-armed man attitude, while refusing help with the luggage and demanding a generous gratuity despite a very sloppy job of carting the crew’s things to their hotel room.
“This is the part where you tip the guy that helped you out,” Glover’s character Phil says while holding has hand out expectantly. He’s just tossed the baggage across the room and yelled at someone who was trying to help him. Brilliant.
Booker Addison loves the humor. He eats it for breakfast, washes his armpits with it, and wears it on his body in the form of funny tshirts.

The original Clash of the Titans came out in 1981 and was directed by Desmond Davis. Here we are on April 2, 2010 and it is coming back, in 3-D nonetheless, and is this time directed by Louis Leterrier. You should definitely go see this if only because Louis Leterrier was also the director of the popular movies The Incredible Hulk, Transporter 2, and Danny the Dog. Leterrier is not new to movies but he has only truly been directing since 2005 with Danny the Dog being his debut.
Now one thing that is getting me very excited about this movie is that Liam Neeson is playing Zeus. I have to say that was an excellent casting call. Liam, no matter what movie he is in, demands a presence on the screen so what better role to put him in than the king of the gods. Now Sam Worthington is playing Perseus the bastard son of Zeus. Sam would not have been my first pick for this role, that would have been Gerard Butler, but he is no stranger to action films and his physique and style work quite well for this type of movie. Of course, I could not go without mentioning the incredible Ralph Fiennes taking another star role in Clash of the Titans playing the role of Hades. Ralph plays an excellent nemesis so it must have been a breeze casting him as Hell’s esteemed leader and the antagonist to Perseus.
Unfortunately, Clash of the Titans was not filmed in 3-D so I would not waste the time and/or money to see it in any other fashion other than standard. Post production conversion to 3-D is kludgey and lack luster and I hope Hollywood stops pinching pennies and starts filming these movies in 3-D from the get go. They can convert from 3-D to standard to satisfy the viewers who aren’t adopting the new trend and not disappoint those, such as myself, who really enjoy the 3-D evolution of these movies. Alice in Wonderland was also post production and it was such a far cry from what it could have been. Now James Cameron set the bar very high with Avatar, but I believe Hollywood and other directors can rise to the challenge.
This newer vision of Clash of the Titans diverts quite a bit from that of the original 1981 version. This time they focus primarily on the attempt by Hades to overthrow Zeus and the epic battles that Perseus must endure to protect the people of Argos and defeat Hades’ mythical monster the Kraken. I am sure this diversion of plot was chosen so that there would be numerous opportunities for epic battle scenes and memorable special effects. They are playing to Letterier strength, action sequences, but I have to admit that he has been weak on story line. I am hoping that he walks a decent line behind story and action because while I do enjoy great action movies I do like my brain to have a little fun too and for that it needs a good story line. Here is a trailer, they sure do know how to make it look good…
